The main reason is color, While I love film for its dynamic range, grain and what it can do with natural light. Film has a richness that just isn't there with digital photography. The way it handles highlights and it's gorgeous soft colour palette makes it perfect for wedding and portrait photography. Film is undoubtedly more expensive to shoot than digital but as an art form I believe it is so, so worth it.
I was lucky enough to learn photography on film and when I switched to digital I felt like something was missing. I found I lost that connection with the subject when shooting digitally. There were too many distractions and it was too tempting to overshoot and not really think fully before pressing the shutter. Film has made me more aware, has pushed me creatively, I feel I am a better photographer.
